October 7, 2015 – June 10, 2016
AACA Museum is gearing up for a larger Steampunk exhibit coming next summer! To give you a visual sample of what Steampunk is all about, starting October 7th, a mini version or pre-exhibit will be displayed in the lobby of the museum up until the full exhibit opens June 10, 2016.
What is Steampunk? Steampunk: refers to a sub genre of science fiction and sometimes fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th century industrial steam-powered machinery.
You’ll see Makers take everyday objects and transform them into masterful works of cosplay or unique fashion statements. Featured pieces will change periodically in the preview exhibit, leading up to the larger exhibit for June 2016.
This exhibit is being co-curated by Thomas Willeford, Steampunk artist and current judge for the new GSNTV series Steampunk’D and Steampunk enthusiast and photographer Michael Liebner.
Thomas is a judge on the new GSNTV Series Steampunk’D
