The registration deadline has passed, but we’re happy to still try accommodate additional travelers on a space available basis.    Contact us as soon as possible if you would be interested in joining this tour.

The AACA Museum invites you to travel with us to California August 20 to 27, 2018 and enjoy touring some intriguing destinations, along with some exclusive automotive related experiences! We are honored that Tucker #1026 from the Cammack Tucker collection here at the AACA Museum, Inc. has been invited to Pebble Beach this year! In addition to the Pebble Beach show our tour will provide you with a mixture of private automotive collections, fascinating museums, local attractions along with excellent food and fellowship all. Once in California we will travel by motorcoach to these automobile hotspots. Say “YES!” to a new adventure!

• Classic Motorsports Monterey Cruise-In
• Guided tour of Blackhawk Museum’s Automotive Gallery
• Francis Ford Coppola Winery for tour, including Mr. Coppola’s Tucker, dinner and wine tasting
• Free time to explore San Francisco
• Choice of Classic Car Forums, RetroAuto and/or Concourso Italiano
• RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction
• Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance ®

CUSTOM TRIP ITINERARY:

 Monday, August 20:      

  • AACA Museum trip participants arrive independently for check-in for two nights at the AACA Museum group hotel in the Monterey, California. If you require information about optional transfer arrangements between your arrival airport and the group hotel, please note your specific request on the trip registration form and AAA Travel will contact you.
  • Welcome reception with wine and dinner this evening.
  • Hotel accommodations for first of two nights at the Casa Munras Garden Hotel in Monterey,
  • Dinner is included today.

Tuesday, August 21:      

  • Morning transfer included between the hotel and Carmel-by-the-Sea for attendance at Concours on the Avenue,
  • Alternative offering: transfer to Monterey for independent time for lunch and shopping at Cannery Row, and perhaps an optional visit at Monterey Bay Aquarium (admission not included).
  • Hotel accommodations for second of two nights at the Casa Munras Garden Hotel in Monterey.
  • Breakfast is included today.

Wednesday, August 22:

  • Morning transfer from the hotel to Danville for a guided tour at the Blackhawk Museum’s Automotive Gallery, plus an exclusive tour of an impressive private collection located nearby.
  • Independent lunch at choice of restaurants at Blackhawk Plaza, adjacent to the Museum.
  • Afternoon transfer from Danville to Geyserville, Sonoma County, for a late afternoon arrival at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery, for a tour and tastings followed by dinner with wine at the on-site restaurant “Rustic,” with Argentinian cuisine. One of Francis Ford Coppola’s Tucker automobiles is on display in the winery’s gallery of authentic movie memorabilia.
  • Overnight accommodations for one night in the Geyserville area, at the DoubleTree Sonoma Wine Country in Rohnert Park  .
  • Breakfast and Dinner are included today.

Thursday, August 23:

  • Morning transfer from the hotel to downtown San Francisco.
  • Private guided tour at Academy of Art University’s Automobile Museum in San Francisco.
  • Independent time in San Francisco for lunch, dinner, shopping and sightseeing centered at Fisherman’s Wharf/Embarcadero area.
  • An official forum on Tucker automobiles will be presented at Pebble Beach at 3:00 PM today.  Optional attendance at this forum will require special additional-cost transportation services from San Francisco.  If you would like to attend this Tucker forum, please indicate your interest on the trip registration form and information will be provided to you.
  • Travel from San Francisco to our group hotel located outside the immediate area of Monterey for the first of four consecutive nights of accommodations at the Hilton Garden Inn in Gilroy This hotel is located approximately 45 minutes ride from Monterey; transportation is provided between the hotel and Monterey for AACA Museum group activities.
  • Breakfast is included today.

Friday, August 24:

  • Today you have several optional choices from which to choose. Please indicate on your trip registration form the option of interest to you.  Detailed information and costs based on the number of registrants for each activity will be provided to you.
  • Optional package of admission ticket and transfers between hotel and the famed Laguna Seca Race Track for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion of historic car racing at the newly renamed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, near Monterey. This optional package is an additional cost activity and requires individual pre-registration and pre-payment, with cost to be advised.
  • Alternative optional offerings; each is an additional cost activity that requires individual pre-registration and pre-payment, with costs to be advised.
    • Travel from hotel to San Simeon to tour Hearst Castle, former estate of William Randolph Hearst.
    • Travel from hotel to Monterey for visit of Monterey Bay Aquarium, and adjacent Cannery Row shops and restaurants; this option is appropriate for those travelers who did not visit these attractions on Tuesday, August 21.
  • Hotel accommodations for second of four nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Gilroy.
  • Breakfast is included today.

Saturday, August 25:

  • Morning transfer from the hotel to Pebble Beach for independent choice of activities and events, including these, with specific schedule and locations to be advised:
    • Classic Car Forums
    • RetroAuto
    • Concourso Italiano
    • Concours de’Lemons
    • RM Sotheby’s Auction: previews commence in the afternoon and the auction is in the evening; General Admission passes for the RM Sotheby Auction are included only for first 25 travelers to register for this trip with the AACA Museum.

Sunday, August 26:

  • Morning transfer from the hotel to The Lodge at Pebble Beach for independent attendance at activities of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with general admission ticket included:
  • Late afternoon transfer from The Lodge at Pebble Beach for return to the hotel.
  • Farewell dinner with wine this evening for the AACA Museum travelers.
  • Hotel accommodations for fourth of four nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Gilroy.
  • Breakfast and Dinner are included today.

Monday, August 27:

  • Independent departures from hotel to commence homeward travel or extend travel activities.
  • Breakfast is included today.
  • Conclusion of AACA Museum’s travel package itinerary and included features.

INCLUDED FEATURES OF THIS CUSTOM TRIP WITH THE AACA MUSEUM:

  • Hotel accommodations for a total of seven nights, as listed in tour itinerary
  • Transportation on a charter motorcoach, as outlined in tour itinerary for August 21 – 26
  • Meals: 7 breakfasts and 3 dinners; gratuities to meal servers
  • Admission fees for museums and activities as specified in tour itinerary
  • Admission fees for Concours on the Avenue on August 21, RetroAuto, Concourso Italiano, and Concours de’Lemons on August 25, and Concours d’Elegance on August 26
  • Baggage handling at hotels (one suitcase per person)

PRICE PER PERSON:  $ 5159, double occupancy;  $ 6109, single occupancy.

The included features and prices of this custom trip are based on a minimum of 20 participants.  If fewer than 20 participants register for this trip by June 29, 2018, this trip may be cancelled, in which case a full refund of registrants’ payments to AAA would be made by AAA Central Penn.  (Group#22118)

FLIGHT ARRANGEMENTSFlight reservations and ticketing can be arranged independently or through a Travel Agent of AAA Central Penn, however, AAA recommends you do not purchase flight tickets for this trip until you are advised in writing by AAA that you are confirmed and this trip is a definite “go.”

                  

RESERVATION & PAYMENT SCHEDULE: Reservations are available on a first-come basis.  Payment in full is required with registration.  Please complete the trip registration form and return it with your full payment to any AAA Central Penn office, by fax to 717-657-3547, or mail the form to Discoveries – AAA Travel, P.O. Box 1354, Harrisburg, PA 17105-1354.  Payments may be made by check (payable to AAA Central Penn) or major credit card.  A receipt of payment and confirmation on this trip will be mailed directly to each confirmed registrant.

Please call after the June 29, 2018 registration deadline to inquire if reservations remain available.

CANCELLATION PENALTIESAfter payment is made, there is a minimum cancellation penalty of $ 25 per person; in addition, the following cancellation penalties apply if a registrant cancels as per this schedule:

Between June 30 and August 5, 2018 = 25% non-refundable per person, plus any additional suppliers fees; between August 6 and 12, 2018 = 50% non-refundable per person, plus any additional suppliers fees; after August 12 = 100% non-refundable.  Cancellation must be made in writing to Discoveries – AAA Travel at the address note above.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:  AAA recommends the purchase of optional Travel Insurance with coverage by Allianz Insurance.  Pre-existing medical condition exemptions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit.  Other conditions apply; ask your AAA Central Penn Travel Agent for details.
