Tucker #1026 and The Factory Test Chassis Have Been Invited to Pebble Beach Concours and So Are You!

June 7, 2018

We are excited and honored to announce that Tucker #1026 and the Factory Test Chassis from the Cammack Tucker collection here at the AACA Museum, Inc. were invited to Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance that resides in California on Sunday, August 26, 2018. Tucker #1026 is the only surviving Tucker with automatic transmission.

Mr. David Cammack was an avid Tucker collector and a very good friend and supporter of the Museum. Upon his passing, he arranged for this extensive collection to find a permanent home here at the AACA Museum, Inc. His desire was to have this collection shared with the public, and the AACA Museum was honored to be chosen as the caretakers of this extensive collection. We’re happy to extend the viewership by having the car and Test Chassis on view at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The enthusiasm and creativity that propelled Preston Tucker and his vision for the Tucker automobile is something that has captured the hearts of many and we are thrilled to have these cars on view at Pebble Beach.

A total of 51 Tuckers were built by hand in Chicago, of which 47 are known to exist. The three Tuckers residing here at the AACA Museum, Inc. represent the largest collection of Tucker vehicles anywhere on public view. Mr. Cammack’s entire Tucker collection was moved from a storage facility in Virginia and relocated here to the AACA Museum. The permanent Cammack Tucker exhibit opened to the public in October 2014.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is not a contest of speed, but of elegance. The automobiles are judged for their style and technical merit, as well as their history, originality and the accuracy of their preservation or restoration. Beginning in 1950, the Concours is the top-ranking collector car competition in the world. It is guided by and often drives the interest of enthusiasts across the globe and continues to set the bar for all other concours. The 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will feature the following marques and special classes among others: Motor Cars of the Raj, Rollston Coachwork, OSCA, Tucker, Postwar Custom Citroen, Vintage-Era Sporting Cars, and Additional features to be announced at a later time.
