The Elegance At Hershey Announces Honorary Chairman and Grand Marshal

June 8-10, 2018 – The Hotel Hershey – Hershey, PA

Nicola Bulgari Wayne Carini

HERSHEY, PA (May 2018) – The Elegance At Hershey will be graced with two prominent car enthusiasts to take on the roles of Honorary Chairman and Grand Marshal for this year’s event. We are proud to introduce Nicola Bulgari, Vice-Chairman of the Bulgari Group and the owner of the largest private collection of vintage Buicks, as our Honorary Chairman and Wayne Carini, host of TV’s popular show Chasing Classic Cars, as our Grand Marshal. Michael Rich, Chairman of The Elegance Board of Directors, noted “The Elegance has been blessed to honor many prestigious luminaries in the car world and this year is no exception.”

Nicola Bulgari is a name that is known throughout the world thanks to his incredible brand Bulgari, but he is also uniquely known for his love of American cars and the magnificent collection he has amassed here and abroad. Growing up in a family that’s been involved in handcrafting precious metals and luxurious jewelry for more than 100 years, Mr. Bulgari learned at a very early age to appreciate and understand masterpieces of design and how dreams are turned into reality. As a child growing up in postwar Rome, late-1930s and early-1940s American cars – primarily Buicks, Cadillacs and Packards – captivated Mr. Bulgari. They became his boyhood passion, his fantasy about life in America. Mr. Bulgari promised himself that when he grew up, he would own a big American car. He appreciates and understands the passion and knowledge of fellow car enthusiasts and the importance of collaboration to preserve this history. He has been a long-time member of the Antique Automobile Club of America as well as many others. Nothing gives Mr. Bulgari more pleasure than sharing his cars with everyone, whether it be at a museum, a concours event or through his collection, to reunite Americans with the proud heritage of General Motors and the American automobile industry.

Having Velocity star Wayne Carini back again is more than a thrill. Wayne is a huge supporter of our event and will be racing his car at the hill climb. He will be debuting a restoration at the concours on Sunday as well. In addition, he will be filming the complete event for a new episode of Chasing Classic Cars, signing autographs and racing Ralph Marano once again in what we are calling Grudge Match II. Wayne’s passion for cars started when he was a child working alongside his dad on such classics as Duesenbergs, Lincolns, Packards and Ford Model As. Then, at just 9 years of age, he experienced a life-altering event – he went for his first ride in a Ferrari. This set him on a career journey now working with all types of vintage automobile collectors throughout the world. With a lifetime of experience in automobile restoration under his belt, master car restorer Wayne Carini has a resume that includes body and paint work on rare car collections owned by the likes of David Letterman, tennis great Ivan Lendl and the DuPont family. He’s been featured in the New York Times as well as numerous automobile magazines, and starred in two one-hour television specials for Discovery’s HD Theater Channel: Monterey Week and The World’s Most Expensive Cars.

The Elegance at Hershey has raised more than 1 million dollars for these three charities: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), AACA Library & Research Center and AACA Museum. The 3-day event includes a vintage race car hill climb, a public Cars & Coffee gathering on Saturday morning and the Sunday Concours d’Elegance – the ultimate garden party featuring the world’s most exquisite collector cars displayed in and around the gardens of The Hotel Hershey.
