Hershey, PA | Recently, automotive attractions from across the nation were nominated by a panel of experts from USA TODAY, 10Best.com, and relevant contributors to compete for the honor of “Best Attractions for Car Lovers.” For weeks, the contest invited the public to vote daily online for their favorite entry. The AACA Museum, Inc. earned a national spot among the top ten securing seventh place.
For more than a year, our focus has been on guiding the Museum through the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, the Museum’s team reimagined ways to engage car lovers and ensure a safe, family-friendly transportation experience. Our year-long “America’s Transportation Experience” campaign was introduced to provide expanded opportunities to interact, educate and inform our audiences in new and creative ways.
We’re thrilled to share our success and excitement. Spring ‘21 was quite possibly the busiest and most successful spring season in our 18-year history. Museum attendance, special events, and new memberships surpassed all expectations. Clearly, credit for the unprecedented success rests with our members, our guests, our supporters, and our Museum staff.
By the Numbers
Our “number crunching” was never more vital to the Museum’s future. Every aspect of the Museum was examined, and we pivoted, re-imagined, and evaluated every aspect of operations to establish best practices for guest services, marketing, and community outreach.
The results speak for themselves. Our year-to-date (YTD) attendance motored passed projections by a staggering 266%. Similarly, sales at the Museum store, Accessories, outpaced the YTD projection by 155%. Plus, we’ve recently welcomed more than 300 members.
Standing among USA Today’s “10Best” for Best Attraction for Car Lovers, the response to our digital outreach and the generosity of Museum members and supporters solidify the pride in what the Museum stands for — Preserving the heritage of motoring.
