Present – November 6, 2016

Hershey, PA (July 16, 2016) — The Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum gets inventive with the opening of a creative summer exhibit, “Steampunk U”, on display until November 6, 2016. What is Steampunk? Steampunk: refers to a subgenre of science fiction and sometimes fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.

Our Steampunk display incorporates a reflection on recycled gears and parts commonly found in the automotive industry re-purposed into both an artistic and functional form.

Thomas_Willeford-Steampunk_U-AACA_MuseumWith the help of guest curator, Thomas Willeford, we’re excited to showcase this form of artistic expression and some emerging artists. Willeford is a Steampunk artist and guest judge on the GSNTV Series, Steampunk’D. Mike Liebner acted as an artist liaison for this exhibit.
