Food and Toy Drive
Nov 14 @ 12:00 am – Dec 22 @ 11:59 pm
The holidays are a great time to think about giving back to the community. The AACA Museum is again coordinating a food & toy drive from November 13 and running through December 22nd.
We are collecting non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys for those in need. Boxes for toys and food items will be placed in the Museum lobby for easy access. Consider bringing an item or two along to donate when you come to visit over the holiday season.
Food Drive with Central PA Food Bank
Non-perishable food donations will be distributed via The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that can reduce hunger in 27 counties across central Pennsylvania. By working with more than 800 partner agencies, they can provide food for more than 55,000 people in need every week.
High priority items include:
- macaroni & cheese
- canned meats and stews
- canned soup
- peanut butter
- canned fruits & vegetables
- packaged meals
- packaged pasta and rice
- canned and dried beans
- pure fruit and vegetable juices
- baby food, cereal, and formula.
Make a donation. With access to the wholesale distribution market, Central PA Food Bank can stretch each dollar you donate. For every $1 donated, the Central PA Food Bank provides six meals to hungry individuals.
Toys for Tots Toy Drive
Members of the community and visitors to the AACA Museum, Inc. are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys. Coordinators pick up these toys and store them in central warehouses where the toys are sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, Coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the less fortunate children of the community.
We’re looking for new, unwrapped toys for children up to age 16. Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food. If donated, such items will NOT be distributed.
