Museum Car Rides 12 – 2
Friday, July 12, 2019, is Collector Car Appreciation Day and we are celebrating with car rides!
This year marks the tenth consecutive commemoration of an event to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. Appreciation and preservation of the automobile is what the Museum’s mission is all about! Join us from 12 Noon to 2 PM for rides in the AACA Museum’s collection vehicles.
Current featured exhibits inside the Museum include Studebaker Cool: 114 Years of Innovation | Harley-Davidson: History, Mythology, and Perceptions of America’s Motorcycle | Raymond Loewy Restrospective| Pontiac-Oakland Display Gallery.
Inside the Museum, younger guests will also be able to participate in a Museum-wide scavenger hunt to locate your favorite “Cars” from the Disney-Pixar Cars movie that are hidden throughout the Museum – How many can you find? The scavenger hunt runs through September 30th – Good luck!
Do you have a collector car, motorcycle or other vehicles? Bring it out to share with visitor’s that day and tell the story of your vehicle here at the AACA Museum.
A wide range of automotive events are now held on the second Friday in July to honor CCAD. At the request of the SEMA Action Network (SAN), this “holiday” has been marked each year since 2010 by a U.S. Senate Resolution recognizing that the “collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an important part of preserving the technological achievements and cultural heritage of the United States.” As in years past, a wide range of automotive events will be held to commemorate the occasion. As this annual event continues to grow worldwide, states, provinces, counties, and cities are following suit with their own recognition. SEMA encourages participation throughout July to honor the classics of the past and the future.
