Hershey, PA (November 11, 2015) —   As the weather gets colder it only gets cozier at the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum as we get ready for the holidays.   The Museum is filled with dozens of decorated trees, model train displays and special vehicles for our holiday celebration! Traditional favorites like our Hess Toy Truck display, Sammy the 29 ft., 21 ton snow plow and the Grinch Scavenger Hunt are back again this year.

New “Toys” for this season:

The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang US National Broadway Tour prop car — Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is based upon a vintage racing car that was featured in many forms including the original novel by Ian Fleming, movie and stage productions. The inspiration for Chitty came from early racing cars and the sound that these cars made as they were started which sparked the idea for the name. This one-of-a kind prop car is being loaned to us from the collection of Tony Garofalo, a life-long collector of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang memorabilia. This car has lots of surprises that are sure to delight including theatrical lighting, tires that tilt 45 degrees and of course her wings!

The AACA Museum is hosting a special movie night in honor of Chitty on
January 17th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (movie begins at 6:00 p.m. and runs 144 minutes). Admission to this event is $18 for attendees 13 years and older, $15 for 4-12 years, children 3 and under are FREE. Admission price includes kid friendly foods, like hot dogs, popcorn, cookies, hot chocolate, and pizza. To purchase tickets, visit the or call the ticket counter at 717-566-7100 x100.

GIANT One-Of-A Kind Pedal Car — This custom built car is meant to look just like a 1951 Murray General Pedal Car.  It was built upon a 1997 Ford Ranger chassis with a V6 3 litre engine.   The body was created using custom molds which were then destroyed by the owner to ensure that it will be the one and only of its kind (It is even drivable and 100% street legal)! Makes our Mini & Micro cars look even tinier!

Sometimes the best gifts come in the smallest packages –
‘It’s a Small World: Micro & Mini Cars’ is our newest featured exhibit beginning November 21 and running through April 22, 2016. These tiny treasures of the car collecting world were carefully selected and are sure to make visitors crack a smile, point and giggle, and snap a selfie or two.

Local School Holiday Tree Decorating Contest – Every year schools join us in decking out the Museum for the holiday by decorating their own Christmas tree with ornaments they create! This year our School Tree exhibit sponsor PNC has made it possible for Millroad & Bainbridge Schools, Northern Dauphin Christian School, Harrisburg Christian School, Union Canal Elementary, and the Vista School to decorate their trees. Guests can vote for their favorite tree throughout the holiday season. The top three schools will receive gift cards! PNC as well as the Ronald McDonald House and The Alfred Victorian Restaurant are set to decorate a tree for the season as well.

Help Us Give Back – In the true spirit of the season, The AACA Museum is teaming up with Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Toys for Tots for a food and toy “drive” throughout the holidays.  Central Pennsylvania’s Food Bank is a non-profit organization that helps provide food to over 55,000 people in need every week. You can help by donating non-perishable food items or by donating financially. With access to the wholesale distribution market Central PA Food Bank can stretch each dollar you donate. For every $1 donated, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank can provide 6 meals to hungry individuals. The AACA Museum will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children up to age 16 in support of Toys for Tots.

All Aboard!  It wouldn’t be the holiday season without trains and we have lots to share!  Several custom train platforms are on display throughout the Museum where visitors can delight in exploring their many fascinating details.
