On March 9, 2017, the above students will compete in the PAA Automotive Technology Competition for scholarships and prizes. The winning school will advance to the 2017 National Automotive Technology Competition at the New York International Auto Show.

A team of two students from the ten top schools were selected for the competition through a written qualifying exam. To prepare for the competition, students are currently training at new car dealerships in their areas. On competition day, the students will face a test of advanced automotive diagnostic skills on an assigned 2017 vehicle with predetermined defects. The 2017 vehicles are supplied by area franchised dealerships.

For over 15 years, the Pennsylvania Automotive Association has hosted this competition to highlight technical careers in the automotive industry and to assist students by preparing them for those careers by giving them “real world”, hands-on experience.
