AACA Museum Cuba Trip

The AACA Museum is going to explore Cuba! Our spring trip was a HUGE SUCCESS and SOLD OUT so we’re going again! October 29 – November 6, 2015 Explore Cuba – The people, the culture and the classic cars! The AACA Museum is excited to announce a trip to Cuba October 29 – November 6, 2015! The weather in Cuba during the time of the trip should be just perfect with temperatures in the mid-upper 70’s. A daily slate of engaging activities affords you an immersive opportunity to connect directly with the Cuban people learning more about each other through direct contact and cultural exchange. Highlights: • Visit a car museum and attend a meeting with Havana’s Classic Car Club • Visit Hemingway’s former home, Finca Vigia • In-Studio discussions with a variety of Cuban artists • Sampling of local fare at privately owned paladars • 20 meals • Tour galleries & museums under the guidance of experts in local art & history The AACA Museum will again work with International Expeditions for all tour arrangements.  International Expeditions is licensed to operate people to people tours by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. Trunk or Treat

Date: Saturday, October 24 Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Gather up your miniature ghosts and goblins and head over to the AACA Museum in Hershey for a bit of Halloween fun! All visitors 12 and under will be eligible to participate in the AACA Museum’s “Trunk or Treat” program included with museum admission. We will offer a special $7 admission price for everyone on October 24th. The first stop will be craft tables to decorate their own Treat bags using various car and Halloween stamps, stickers, markers and more. Once they’ve personalized their own treat bag, the hunt will begin to locate a variety of “trunk or treat” spots within the main and lower levels of the Museum. Treats will be given to each child 12 and under at each of these treat locations throughout the museum provided by The Hershey Company. Halloween themed videos will be played in the indoor Drive-In theater and a display of hearse vehicles will be available for viewing so everyone can get in the spirit. There is so much happening during Fall Meet Week – so don’t miss out! The Eastern Division AACA National Fall Meet takes place each year during the 1st full week in October. The Hershey Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) began hosting the show in 1955 and has done so each year since then. The meet is located in beautiful Hershey, PA on the ground and parking lots surrounding Hersheypark and The Giant Center. Hershey is considered one of the largest antique automobile shows and flea markets in the United States. It consists of over 9,000 flea market spaces, over 1,000 car corral spaces, and approximately 1,500 show cars. Late Night First Thursday Program “Autos in Acrylics”

Date: Thursday, October 1 Time: 6:30 p.m. Artist Dan Reed discusses his upcoming exhibit to be featured in the Museum, “Autos in Acrylics”. As automotive enthusiasts many of us have automobile related art hanging on the walls of our home, office or garage. Have you ever wondered how your favorite piece of art came to be? How an artist with tubes of paint and a little imagination turn a blank canvas into a work of art? What tools and techniques are applied to that blank, white space transforming it into something brilliant, colorful, textured and seemingly 3-dimensional?
