Cars & Christmas at the AACA Museum
November 19, 2016 – December 31, 2016

Hershey, PA (November 14, 2016) — As the weather gets colder it only gets cozier at the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum as we get ready for the holidays. The Museum is filled with dozens of decorated trees, model train displays and special vehicles for our holiday celebration! Traditional favorites like our Hess Toy Truck display, Sammy the 29 ft., 21 ton snow plow and the Grinch Scavenger Hunt are back again this year.

New “Toys” for the season:

Amore della Strada: Italian Cars
On display: November 19 – April 22, 2017
When you hear the word Italy, chances are your thoughts immediately go to Italian food, art and architecture, fashion, and Italian Cars!
Amore della Strada translates to “Love of the Road” and there’s no question that some of the sleekest sports cars in the World are Italian. While Italy is not one of the largest auto producers in the world, there’s no question that the style of their automobiles is second to none. AACA Museum brings a taste of Italy to you with a tempting array of exquisite Italian cars!

All Aboard! – It wouldn’t be the holiday season without trains and we have lots to share! Several custom train platforms are on display throughout the Museum where visitors can delight in exploring their many fascinating details.

polarexpressweb-110316One of the best loved holiday train stories is that of the Polar Express. Join us for a special Polar Express Pajama Party on Friday, December 2nd from 6-9 PM – As you enter the museum, a railroad conductor will greet you and stamp your golden ticket, granting you entry to enjoy the many exhibits on view in our holiday wonderland. Pajamas, pillows, blankets and stuffed animals are encouraged as you settle in to enjoy “The Polar Express” movie surrounded by train displays, holiday trees and special vehicles. Enjoy hot dogs, popcorn, cookies, pizza and of course – hot chocolate! The movie will begin at 6:00 PM.

Advanced tickets required. Regular admission is $16, Children 4-12 – $12, Children 3 & Under are FREE. To purchase tickets visit http://www.aacamuseum.org/polar-express-pajama-party/ or call the ticket counter at 717-566-7100 x100.

Grinch & Max Scavenger Hunt – Please help us find the Grinch and his dog Max in the Museum. They’ve escaped and we need to make sure they’re not causing mischief! In order to do that we need you to find them all scattered through the Museum. There will be a little treat for you on your way out as a thanks for all your help.
Help us reign in the Grinches this holiday season!

This year our School Tree exhibit sponsor PNC has made it possible for Union Canal Elementary, The Vista School, Palmyra High School Musical Grease, and Caring Creations to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to decorate their trees. Guests can vote for their favorite tree throughout the holiday season. Everyone is a winner, both schools will receive gift cards!

Help Us Give Back – In the true spirit of the season, The AACA Museum is teaming up with Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Toys for Tots for a food and toy “drive” throughout the holidays. Central Pennsylvania’s Food Bank is a non-profit organization that helps provide food to over 55,000 people in need every week. You can help by donating non-perishable food items or by donating financially. With access to the wholesale distribution market Central PA Food Bank can stretch each dollar you donate. For every $1 donated, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank can provide 6 meals to hungry individuals. The AACA Museum will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children up to age 16 in support of Toys for Tots.

Special note: Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food. If donated, such items will NOT be distributed. The Museum will be collecting these items in our lobby.
